Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect the X3 handheld controller to my receiver?

Hold the ON/OFF button (bottom center) for 3 seconds; you will see the "NEVCO SPORTS ONE" splash screen. On a dual-sport X3 you are first asked to choose a sport: press Enter, then 1 for Baseball or 2 for Softball. The X3 then connects automatically: if your receiver's serial is pre-set it displays Connecting to: plus the serial number; if no receiver is pre-programmed it scans for nearby receivers and displays Searching....., and when the scan completes you arrow-key to your receiver and press Enter. If more than one sport profile is available, arrow-key to yours and press Enter. To connect to a different receiver, press Options from the scoring screen and select Main Receiver, then choose Device Discovery (press Enter to search, which takes about 40 seconds, then arrow-key to your receiver and press Enter) or Manual Entry (type the serial number with the keypad and press Enter; do not enter the leading zeros from the serial label, so a label reading 061011 is entered as 61011). Two warnings: selecting Device Discovery or Manual Entry while the X3 is in an active event makes this X3 leave the event (the event keeps running on the receiver and the scoreboard stays on), and receivers that are running an event are not discoverable by a scan. Also, when an event configured with multiple parent/child receivers is started via the One Controller mobile app, no X3 can join that event.

How do I reset the ball, strike, and out counts on the X3 Baseball controller?

Hold BALL to reset the ball count, hold STRIKE to reset the strike count, and hold OUT to reset the out count (a long press means holding the button for 3 seconds). The counts also reset automatically after walks, strikeouts, or three outs. These behaviors are defaults based on automation rules in the sport profile, and they can be changed via the One Controller mobile app.

Why does my X3 show "No Events Available"?

Every minute the X3 will attempt to obtain the event list from the receiver, but no event has been created on the receiver for the X3's configured sport. Using the One Controller app, create an event with the sport profile for the X3's sport.
